Dennis Wong: YOR Health Encourages Human Interaction

Dennis Wong, YOR Health co-founder and natural lifestyle advocate, says it’s time to get back to basics and connect with people.

Q: Has the internet made it easier to connect?

Dennis Wong, YOR Health: In many ways, yes. However, it has also made it very easy for us to become indifferent to those around us. We often see people as little more than bits of digital information projected from our tablets, phones, or computers. I think in order to truly connect, we have to put down the electronics and get back to one-on-one contact: family dinners, long drives, and real conversations.

Dennis Wong: YOR Health Draws Attention to Dangerous Yet Common Ingredient

Sodium benzoate is a naturally-occurring chemical. It is found in fruits and certain spices and is used as an antifungal preservative in many common household goods, including bath and body products, vinegar, sodas, cosmetics, and mouthwash. Dennis Wong of YOR Health says, however, that the majority of sodium benzoate found in these products is derived synthetically.

Synthetic doesn’t mean safe

Many people mistakenly assume that synthetic means safe. According to Dennis Wong, YOR Health disagrees. Synthetic products, while often subject to strict regulations and guidelines, aren’t necessarily good for the body or the environment. The Mayo Clinic has actually looked into sodium benzoate, along with a number of food dyes, as a possible trigger for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

According to Dennis Wong, YOR Health Essential Oils Derived from Organic Sources

In 2015, Dennis Wong of YOR Health announced the launch of YOR Health ’s exclusive selection of essential oils. Today, Wong continues to promote one of his company’s most popular product lines.

Q: Where do YOR Health’s essential oils come from?

Dennis Wong, YOR Health: All of our essential oil products derive from some of the world’s best farmers. We contract with USDA Certified Organic farms, which must meet exacting criteria set forth by US National Organic Standards.

Q: How are the oils extracted?

Dennis Wong, YOR Health: Once each crop reaches its peak compounding season, the plants are cultivated and oils are extracted using a cold press or steam distillation system. Our first-run oils are mined without the use of harmful chemicals and then bottled in special glass containers which protect against harmful UV rays and oxidation.

Dennis Wong Says YOR Health Trusts Organic Ingredients

Is organic really best? Read on as Dennis Wong of YOR Health answers this and other questions in the following brief interview.

Q: Why are essential oils more powerful than simply eating/smelling the plant from which it was derived?

Dennis Wong, YOR Health: Essential oils are the compounds in the plant that give it medicinal, healing, or other beneficial properties. Most plants don’t actually contain a great deal of oil, maybe a fraction of a drop. When the oils are extracted, they are highly concentrated. For example, it takes greater than 30 pounds of lavender flowers to produce a single vial of lavender essential oil.
